Jan 2009 : The Three As Contest Group entered AFS-SSB-2009 with just three logs, making a total of 1,070 QSOs. It was again impossible to muster four entries for this mode. G3WVG (operating as G0AAA) and G3TXF virtually swapped places with last year. In 2008 G3WVG (G0AAA) amassed 421 QSOs to G3TXF's 345, but this year (2009) G3TXF leap-frogged ahead with 431 QSOs to G3WVG (G0AAA)'s 398. In total 23 QSOs were lost in adjudication.
Nigel G0VDZ assisted the Three As AFS-SSB team with a substantial supporting log. G3TXF got 157 Qs in the first hour : See Hourly Rates Table. Third Place certificate winners.

Jan 2008 : The Three As Contest Group entered AFS-SSB-2008 with just three logs, making a total of 993 QSOs. It was impossible to muster four entries for this mode. Ian G3WVG operated magnificently as G0AAA and worked 32 more stations that last year. However G3TXF could not keep up the pace (screaming into a microphone) and ended up with 48 QSOs less than in 2007. Jim G3RTE assisted the team-effort with a useful part-time entry as G6AY.
G3WVG's G0AAA score (4,140) came second behind the overall winner's (G3BJ) 4,640. Despite having only three members, the Three As SSB team came in fifth place.
