| Fine weather in North Devon during the CQWW CW 2007 Contest weekend made the outside antenna work much easier. | Station (MP-MkV+Acom amp) for the Single-Band 20m entry. The Win-Test contest logging software added greatly to the fun. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

This year (2007) G3TXF celebrated 40 years of CQWW CW Contesting: G3TXF first took part in a CQWW CW Contest in Nov 68 ......... and forty CQWW CW Contests later G3TXF is still taking part. As the CQWW CW Contest table shows, the world's best CW Contest was missed on only three occasions during the past forty years. In 2007 the entry was 20m SOSB. |

| 20m SOSB : G3TXF : CQWW CW 2007
1,951 QSOs, 127 C, 36 Z (missed 01, 19, 31 and 39) The table shows the QSOs made with the top-ten DX countries and the top-ten EU countries. Being called by nine BY stations was a nice surprise. There were more ZLs (8) than VKs (7)! Continents : EU 49%, NA 39%, AS 8%, AF 2%, SA 2%, OC 1% |

| The QSO graphs suggests that conditions (and therefore QSO volumes) were better on the Saturday than on the Sunday. Although the rate peak at 17z on Saturday was 128 QSOs (all W-VE), the same one-hour slot on the Sunday produced barely one third of that number of QSOs. There was no substantial opening to JA, just the occasional JA caller. Calling CQ towards JA did not produce any runs. Although there were several nice callers from the Far East (eg AH2R, HS0ZGL, XU7MWA, XW1B, 9M2CNC, 9M6XRO, 9M6YBG, 9M8YY, 9V1YC) not a single YB was worked. Nor indeed was there a BV. Other omissions in the Asian Mults list include EX and EY. None of the several UA0s worked was far enough east to be in Z19. The other missing Zones were 01 (KL7), 31 (KH6) and 39 (VQ9 etc). |
