| Nigel G3TXF operated as FH/G3TXF from Mayotte from 28 Jan to 1 Feb 2006. 5,000 QSOs were made during the 100% CW operation on five bands. Although it had been planned to also operate as FR/G3TXF from Réunion on the same trip, this was cancelled at the last moment because of the Chikungunya problems on FR. |

A regular ferry service connects Petite Terre (FH-002) which is the smaller of the two main islands in Mayotte but which has the airport (DZA) and the main island Grande Terre (FH-001). The ferry crossing takes about 20 minutes. |

| Nigel G3TXF operating as FH/G3TXF from Mayotte using a much-travelled Kenwood TS-570DG. The control unit for the Stepp-IR vertical sits on top of the rig. The keyer is an ETM-9.
What, no keyboard? Yes, this 5,000-QSO operation was 100% "manual keying" with an ETM-9 keyer. The laptop which was to be used for logging was stolen soon after arrival in FH. Fortunately there were no QSO data lost as the operation had not yet started!
